We can now treat any problem with a 3D printed solution. 3D printed metalwork and plate fixation is available. 3D printed acetabulum reconstruction as well as reconstruction of any bony defect with metal construct is just a CT scan away. There is also soon to be the ability to 3D bone. That will truly change the options a surgeon has. Joint replacement surgery is also not far away from being a reality in that a patient will present to the surgeon and the next thing that is done is that a new knee or hip is printed in the operating theatre ready for that patient.
